Founded in July 2005, LiFS is a non-profit association comprised of feminist and socialist lesbian activists. Its primary objective is to strengthen political organizing efforts within the lesbian feminist movement by creating affinity groups[LB2] , implementing public policies favorable to lesbian rights, and opening up dialogues and debates from the perspective lesbian feminism, that achieve a social, cultural, and political impact on a national and international level.

ACTIONS

LiFS organized the “We Exist” Campaign (Campaña Existimos) to analyze the implications of the current political climate on LGBT rights and create strategies to advance LGBT rights.

Since 2015, LiFS has operated a School of Political Debate called “Agora Les” where lesbian and trans people gather to discuss questions related to feminism.

LiFS lobbies for LGBT rights through the following platforms: the Lesbian Working Group within the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the National Working Group that monitors the implementation of the National Plan against Gender-Based Violence (PNCVG, by its Spanish acronym), and the Working Group on LGBT Human Rights within the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
