ADESPROC LIBERTAD GLBT is a grassroots organization that, through the lens of equality and human rights, seeks to promote LGBT people’s participation in various political, economic, social, and cultural spheres, as well as their personal and collective development and empowerment, by way of institutional capacity-building, community organizing, and service provision. ADESPROC LIBERTAD also conducts research on the human rights situation of the LGBTI+ people and people with STIs/HIV, among others.

ACTIONS

ADESPROC LIBERTAD Through its Observatory on LGBT Rights, seeks to shine a light on the human rights situation of LGBT people. More specifically, the Observatory focuses on bullying, discrimination, and hate crimes.

 

ADESPROC LIBERTAD works alongside the government in the formulation and implementation of pro- LGBTI+ policies and regulations.

 

ADESPROC LIBERTAD monitors the implementation of relevant public policies at all levels of government through information gathering, community organizing, media usage, and sensitivity workshops for universities, schools, and public and private institutions.

 

ADESPROC LIBERTAD has taken an active role in various networks of organizations that are committed to defending human rights and sexual and reproductive rights, particularly for LGBTI+ people. These networks include: Comunidad de Derechos Humanos (Human Rights Community), Capítulo Boliviano de Derechos Humanos, Desarrollo y Democracia (Bolivian Chapter on Human Rights, Development, and Democracy), COALIBOL LGBTI (Coalición Boliviana de Organizaciones de Lesbianas, Gais, Bisexuales, Transexuales e Intersexuales – Bolivian Coalition of LGBTI Organizations), and the Red Nacional contra el Racismo y toda Forma de Discriminación (National Network against Racism and All Forms of Discrimination), among others.
